Patrick Henry Fussell
A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF
PATRICK HENRY FUSSELL
WHEREAS Patrick Henry Fussell, born in San Augustine, Texas, on March 19, 1928, and departed this life on November 19, 2006 in Lufkin, was a friend of and a long-time member of the East Texas Historical Association; and
WHEREAS Patrick Henry Fussell, was a lifelong resident San Augustine and served as mayor of that city; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Henry Fussell served his country honorable in the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Henry Fussell was a dedicated devotee of the history of Texas and East Texas and was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and an active participant in Chapter 20 of that organization; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Henry Fussell was a successful real estate and hotel developer in East Texas , and was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Augustine;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the membership of the East Texas Historical Association laments the passing of this “good and faithful servant” on November 19, 2006, extends sympathy to his family and friends; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Annual Meeting and another presented as is appropriate to the family of Patrick Henry Fussell, that they may know of the love and esteem in which he is yet held by all.
